Back To Blog!
So many things have been going on since the last post. Which is good because I probably would have died of boredom otherwise.
I’ve moved yet again, now I’m living down on Lake Shore with Sasha who left Ottawa to brave "Big Scary Toronto" and so far so good the only thing I miss about the old apartment is the air conditioning. I’m lucky enough to get rides to and from work with Cassandra which saved the time and hassle of public transit. As far as I’m concerned I paid my dues to the commuting gods when I worked other places and I’ve built up some karmic credit!
The move was pretty uneventful overall, my parents and brother helped and LINDSAY!!!! I’ve told Lindsay that I’ve never seen anyone with more determination when it comes to moving and my parents agreed with me! THANK YOU SLOPPY!!!! I’m owe you BIG TIME!!!!! We’ll figure that out this weekend when you’re here for my birthday!
What blog post would be complete without a few words about INCUBUS!!! I just picked up the soundtrack to "Stealth" a movie you may have seen commercials for as it is coming out on the 29th. Incubus wrote three original songs for the soundtrack and Aqueous Transmission is also the last song on the album. Fortunately the three new songs are the first three tracks so I don’t have to skip through anything to get to what I want. From the previews the movie doesn’t look very good and the rest of the soundtrack is a little disappointing but overall I’ll probably watch the movie when it comes on TV. If Brandon had a cameo or something I’d bother to watch it sooner but I haven’t heard anything about that so for now I’ll skip it.
I’m going to be turning 25 in 4 more days and I’m mixed about it overall. I’m defiantly not at the place in my life that I had expected I would be at 25 but I really don’t have too much to complain about, with the exception of my non-existent love life.
I am a little disappointed because Sasha wanted to throw me a birthday party and the only people who responded to here were Lindsay who is coming, Karin who is not coming and Ravi who claims he will come but as much as we all love Ravi we all know that he rarely (at best) is able to show up anywhere. And I know that it’s just that he’s so high in demand that I don’t’ take it personally! So I told her to call off the party and we decided that we’re going to have drinks at home and then go out and meet hot guys, anyone who feels guilty about not coming to the party can find me some hot guys to make up for it!
I’m down to 140 pounds now, and while I’m not super impressed with it, they were talking on the radio about that Japanese guy who keeps winning the hot dog eating contests and they referred to him as a "skinny 5’7 guy who weighs 140" and that made me feel good because I’m 5’7 also. So 33 pounds lost and I’d like to lose about 10 more. Although I’m pretty sure that I’ll never be really satisfied!
Okay I’ll work now but I’ll post again soon!
Love Poppy

I'm not blog-savy, so I hope I'm doing this right. I would just like to say that I think Poppy's blog is excellent. We're celebrating my birthday soon, so maybe she'll post about that next week.
Regarding my marvelous moving capabilities, it's true my determination when it comes to moving is noteworthy. Actually, I'm an expert mover, probably because I've done it so many times. And, listen up, just for you, I'm going to reveal my super-secret key to a hassle-free moving experience... drumroll please .................
............
.......DON"T UNPACK! This way, when the truck arrives, you're ready to rock'n roll because all of your belongings are still packed from your last move. This allows you all the benefits of a minimalist lifestyle (because you can't actually access 90% of your stuff), with all the perks of being a pack-rat (because you never actually have to throw anythinfg out. All safely preserved in your trusty liquor store boxes.) It's very zen, trust me. Only an experienced mover such as myself can truly reveal the secrets of the zen move. This is not to say my knowledge came easily. My path to wisdom was fraught with dangerous perils. There was the desk that flew off the truck on Queen street (more of a danger to pedestrians and fellow vehicles than to myself, although I did have to skip out into oncoming traffic to retrieve it.) Then there was the sprained ankle. That was the day I learned not to rearrange heavy furniture on my own. (a valuable lesson) Then, of course, there is the infamous mole incident. The moral of that story is, when using unconventional moving devices, (such as rickety shopping carts), make sure all items are placed securly within it before putting them into motion. As Poppy (the only witness to this harrowing tale) can attest, your own favorite belongings can instantly become menacing tools of torture. Just to give you a brief explanation: as I was pulling the cart thru a door, my full-length mirror tipped over, swooping down with all the strength of a medeval gullotine, barely sparing my jugular, and sadly amputating one of the small moles on my neck. It got a proper funeral with a burial at sea. Well, I'm sure it will eventually reach the sea. Anyways...I'll just leave you with that.
Lindsay
