Post Incubus Poppy
Well guys I braved it, I was downtown accross the street from Much Music last night and Incubus (as usual) kicked ass! I will admit that I left a bit early because it was so flippin' cold! But I did at least wait until the numbness in my feet turned into that frozen pain and climbed it's way all the way up to my knees.
My biggest problem with the show was that that stupid VJ Amanda asked the most retarded questions and she didn't refer to any of the guys by name! I don't even think that she knew who was who, with the exception of Brandon of course. Oh yeah, and she mentioned how all their past albums were more pop and this one is quite rock. DO YOUR RESEARCH BITCH!!! There were albums before Make Yourself!
It was freaking ridiculous the audience/fan questions were for the most part dumb! The one that was even remotely intelligent (dumb but better than the others anyways) that's when the Much staff opened the door to outside so they guys couldn't even hear it. Some guy actually asked if any of them were agoraphobic! HELLO???? Do people think!!!
But all in all it was awsome to see them even if they did play that most terrible oftheir songs "Wish you were here" I just dislike it because it got overplayed, and was a major contributing factor to the teeny bopper following. There were two 20ish girls standing beside me and they were talking about the title of the new record and how they thought is was fucked up and didn't make any sense, and then they went into how they don't like the old stuff because Brandon was ugly. It's okay to talk like that when you're 16-17 but come on girls , when you're in your 20's it's time to realize that there are more important things! Now I'm not denying that Brandon is hot and that I'd pretty much do anything he said, but still it's obviously apparent that as a band they have the choice of producing a decent album (S.C.I.E.N.C.E.) or having Brandon look hot (Morning View) and apparently they can't do both at the same time! I'm okay with that though, and as he's getting uglier I'm hoping that Crow Left of the Murder is going to be cool.
Either way though I love them and can't wait for them to tour North America and come back to Toronto! They'll be doing the Japan-Austrailia thing for the early part of spring so hopefully they'll be hitting us up in the summer, but if it's as part of Lollapalozza and lolla doesn't come here again I'll go to the States for it by myself this time!
P.S. Lolla'04 rumors are starting to spread, planning is happening!
